Education Specialist: Technical and Vocational Skills Development
COL is seeking an experienced professional for the position of Education Specialist: Technical and Vocational Skills Development to conceptualise, manage and implement programme initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods by expanding and creating learning opportunities, increasing access to skills training, and developing occupationally related technical and vocational skills using open, distance and technology-based approaches.
The Specialist will be a thought-leader with a demonstrated ability to deliver results. S/he will work in partnership with diverse stakeholders in Member States as well as with regional and international partners to advance COL’s outcomes and impact. Extensive hands on experience in open, distance and technology-mediated learning is required.
The person must be a citizen of a Commonwealth country with a commitment to development and possess the capability to exercise professional judgement and diplomacy and the skills to be able to work in a team while representing COL’s interests internally and externally. The position requires proficiency with information and web-based technologies.
This three-year initial appointment is renewable for a further term(s) by mutual agreement.
