APODE

The Flexible Learning Association of New Zealand (FLANZ) and Open and Distance Learning Association of Australia (ODLAA) are delighted to collaborate in organising the Asia-Pacific Online Distance Education (APODE) network.

In the light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the spotlight has been placed on the value of investing in new flexible models of education. This exciting initiative aims to both celebrate, and build further capacity, in online distance education across the Asia-Pacific region. We hope to engage partners and key stakeholders throughout the region in a variety of online activities.

APODE Week provides a focus for advocating for the advantages of increasingly flexible modes of learning delivery and support. We are supporting the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) in their Global Advocacy Campaign

APODE Week is timed to coincide with European Online and Distance Learning Week hosted by the European Distance & E-Learning Network (EDEN). Events also fall during the season that the United States Distance Learning Association traditionally host their week of focussed events.

We are delighted to partner with EDEN and USDLA as this adds an even stronger international perspective to this innovative week-long virtual event and the future work of the network.
