The Tuia Te Hononga Tāngata, Tuia Te Hononga Ao: Taking the Pulse of Distance Learning in Aotearoa New Zealand sponsors change annual, with the only consistent theme being they are organizations who share an interest in distance learning in the schools sector and that believe that up to date information should be available to both policymakers and practitioners. The Tuia Te Hononga Tāngata, Tuia Te Hononga Ao: Taking the Pulse of Distance Learning in Aotearoa New Zealand project benefits from the involvement of these organizations who have sponsored the latest annual report.
This project was established in 2023 through a grant from the Intramural Research Award Program of the College of Education and Health at Touro University of California.

Following the 2023 annual report, the Education Partnership & Innovation Trust provided a grant to assist with historical data collection for the 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 school years.
The Flexible Learning Association of New Zealand has provided hosting and support for the project website.
Finally, the artwork for the report cover, as well as the website banner, were created pro bono by Greta Menzies.
The following is a list of organizations that have sponsored the study since it first began.
