Funding and Donations

How we are funded

The work of FLANZ, as a registered charitable trust, is funded by individual membership fees and from the generous support of our sponsors. FLANZ receives no government funding.

Please consider making a donation

As a registered charity we are capable of accepting your donations and ensuring your generous gift can have the impact you intend.

Because we aim to minimise the administrative overhead associated with any donation, please be aware that your donation is most likely to be aggregated into the FLANZ Professional Development Fund.

If you wish to discuss making a significant gift or making a bequest, please contact Dr Simon Paul Atkinson, Treasurer (treasurer@flanz.org.nz).

The FLANZ Professional Development Fund  can be applied to by anyone resident in New Zealand who works in the education and training sector and is directly engaged in research and/or practice of flexible learning approaches. Non-members are eligible. Serving members on the FLANZ  Executive Committee are NOT eligible. Awards are made to an individual, rather than a team or institution, for the purpose of attending formal or non-formal professional development events. Preference is given to events that are in Australasia. Awards are only made to meet the expense of fees for a given event (conference, seminar, or workshop) and not for travel, accommodation or subsistence.  Applicants complete a short application form which is then reviewed at a regular FLANZ Executive Committee meeting.
